Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs inside your browser, on your own computer or phone. Your files are never sent to a server, so nobody else can see them.
Is there a limit on how many files I can convert?
No daily limit and no sign-up. Drop as many files as you like; the only limit is your device's memory, so very large batches simply take longer.
Why does my iPhone save photos as HEIC?
HEIC files are about half the size of a JPG of the same quality, so they save space on the phone. Windows and many websites still can't open them, which is why converting to JPG helps.
Is the date the photo was taken kept?
Yes. The photo's EXIF details, including the date taken and the camera, are copied into the JPG, so the photos sort correctly in your gallery.
