Questions

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. The conversion runs inside your browser, on your own computer or phone. Your files are never sent to a server, so nobody else can see them.

Is there a limit on how many files I can convert?

No daily limit and no sign-up. Drop as many files as you like; the only limit is your device's memory, so very large batches simply take longer.

Can I search and copy the text in the PDF?

Yes. The PDF holds real text, not a picture of it, so you can search it, copy it and select it like any other document, and it stays sharp at any zoom.

Are line breaks and spaces kept?

Yes. Every line break, blank line and indent stays where it is; a tab becomes four spaces. Long lines wrap at the edge of the page.

What if my text shows strange characters?

Text files are read as UTF-8, the encoding nearly everything saves today. A file that isn't valid UTF-8 is read as an older Windows file instead, which fixes accented letters in most of them.

Which page size is used?

Letter, with a margin of three quarters of an inch. Pick A4 above the list before you create the PDF; the text flows onto as many pages as it needs.

Which languages work?

Languages written in Latin, Greek or Cyrillic letters, which covers English, most of Europe, Russian and Ukrainian. Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic and Hebrew text, emoji and some symbols such as arrows don't show in the PDF yet.
